FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are your soups Halal-certified?

Both La Zuppa and our manufacturers are not currently under any halal certification scheme. We are always looking for ways to improve so watch this space.

For La Zuppa options for a vegetarian lifestyle, look out for soups with the Plant-Powered labels!

Are your soups vegetarian-friendly?

We do have soups that contain no animal ingredients, suitable for a vegetarian lifestyle. They can be easily identified by our Plant-Powered labels.
We do have some more vegetable-based recipes in the range, however, some are cooked in chicken stock – so we always advise reading the back of the packet to make sure the ingredients are right for you, as we know there are many vegetarian lifestyles out there!

Do any of your products contain sugar or cane sugar?

Some of our products do contain sugar (cane sugar). We always recommend for consumers to refer to on-pack labelling for product information. For products that do not add sugar as an ingredient, however, we cannot guarantee the absence of sugar from cross-contacts since all products share the same processes and equipment. Therefore, for all health concerns, please always consult a healthcare professional prior to consuming our products.

What are your bowls made of?

Our La Zuppa microwavable bowls are made of Polypropylene and they are BPA-free. They are carefully designed to be heat and food-safe, ensuring our products are kept in the best condition throughout the product’s shelf life.

Can I recycle my La Zuppa bowls?

We’re happy to say that for our La Zuppa bowls range, both cardboard and plastic bowls are recyclable for you to bring to recycling collection points (please note that the film for the bowl is not recyclable).

What are your pouches made of?

The La Zuppa pouches are made of layers of materials including PET, Nylon, Aluminium, and some other plastic materials. They are carefully designed to be heat and food-safe, ensuring our products are kept in the best condition throughout the product’s shelf life.

Why are you not using recyclable pouches?

We’re so glad you asked! Currently, the recycling infrastructure and network are not yet mature enough to support the public landscape of Australia for recyclable pouches. Hence, the use of recyclable pouches is not a feasible solution to our needs yet. However this is really important to us, so we welcome any suggestions on how we can move towards more meaningful and sustainable packaging.
